Hertford Town
Town stepped back into the Isthmian League last season after London Colney refused promotion, and if the team had as much fun on the pitch as the supporters had off it then a good time was had by all! They’ll be looking to improve on their fifteenth place in the last campaign as they move sidewards into Bostik South Central.
Pre-season looks like this:
Wendy, Steve, Michael and Lance of Hertford Town
Marlow
Marlow move back to the Isthmian League after fourteen years away, and will look to improve on last season’s fourteenth place in Southern League Division One East. Pre-season for the Blues is as follows:
Welcome to Molesey
Molesey
The Moles didn’t much enjoy the last campaign, winning only seven matches and staying up only because; a) only one team was relegated, and b) Shoreham were abject. This season will start with a new manager and a rebuilt team, and a fair amount of optimism. Here are their pre-season fixtures:
Northwood
Wood celebrate the opening of their new clubhouse this weekend, and then the following weekend entertain a Chelsea XI. But there are a number of other attractive fixtures too!
Hertingfordbury Park
South Park
“Oh my God, they killed Kenny!” There, for the benefit of the supporters of all new Bostik League teams, the obvious joke is now out of the way and you can concentrate on the football.
Sparks have a new manager- former Merstham and Leatherhead boss Mick Sullivan- and so far he seems to have hosted a trial for every footballer within a fifty mile radius, which undoubtedly means that he’ll have a very large and capable squad but be worn out before the season kicks off. Home fans will be looking forward to seeing the results of all of that work, and they’ll get the chance very soon- Mick has lined up four higher division clubs amongst his pre-season schedule.
Wodson Park, home of Ware
Tooting & Mitcham United
The Terrors were disappointed to find themselves relegated last season after only one campaign in the Bostik Premier Division, as Burgess Hill Town once more did their last minute escape act to leave their rivals facing the drop. Still, new season, new manager, refreshed team, new hope- perhaps we’ll see them back in the top flight in twelve months!
Uxbridge
The Reds finished fifteenth in Southern League Division One East last time out, and in preparation for their first Isthmian League campaign for fourteen years have lined up a collection of pre-season friendlies against higher division opposition. Head along to Honeycroft for the visits of Potters Bar Town, Wealdstone and their Raider, Hendon and Wingate & Finchley, amongst others.
Waltham Abbey
Nineteenth in the North Division last season, the Abbots now have a new manager- former Thurrock boss Mark Stimson- and a new squad, and will be expected to be much stronger in 2018/19.
Their pre-season is as follows:
Ware
Twentieth in the North Division last season, Ware ended the campaign strongly and banished relegation fears that had looked very real only a few months previously. They’ll be kicking off the new campaign with a new 3G pitch, and will open that with the visit of a Stevenage XI on July 18th. The entire schedule looks like this:
Westfield
Woking’s second side are now not all that far away from Woking’s first side, and indeed take them on in pre-season. Last season they clinched the Combined Counties League title with six games remaining to move up to step four for the first time ever. They’ve lined up an exciting pre-season schedule, including matches against Bostik Premier Division Corinthian-Casuals, Carshalton Athletic, Kingstonian and Dorking Wanderers.
