A Bostik Thursday News Round-Up!

By Ian Townsend

Today’s news digest features Ashford Utd, Barking, Dorking Wanderers, Folkestone Invicta, Heybridge Swifts, Tonbridge Angels and Worthing

It’s Thursday, so it must be time for a news round-up. Here it is, in alphabetical order!

Ashford United have signed defender Will Thomas from Hythe Town, perhaps as a replacement for Tommy Cooney who has joined Heybridge Swifts. Visit the Nuts and Bolts website HERE for more details.

Barking have snapped up former AFC Hornchurch left back/winger Teddy Nesbitt from Canvey Island- more details HERE.

Dorking Wanderers have announced that Ben Eltham (that’s the chap who brings you the Bostik League Show and leads the Back of the Net team, not the 80’s comedian with the shiny suits) is the new Director of Operations for Meadowbank Stadium. More news on that HERE.

Folkestone Invicta have announced that former Leeds United striker Duncan McKenzie is coming to the Fullicks Stadium for a sportsman’s dinner on 15th March. For more details on how you can get tickets click HERE - and we hope he can still jump over minis and throw golf balls the length of the stadium, both things he was famous for in his Elland Road days.

As well as the singing of Tommy Cooney (see above), Heybridge Swifts have also added to their management team with the appointment of former Bowers & Pitsea Assistant Mark Ashford. Click HERE for more details on that move.

Tonbridge Angels have announced that they have signed Ryan Worrall on a permanent deal from Eastbourne Borough. This hasn’t gone down particularly well with Borough fans on social media, but we’re sure that Steve McKimm and the Angels faithful are delighted. HERE are the details.

Finally, Worthing FC have been nominated for a Sunny Worthing Award, in the category of Sports, Leisure and Tourism. Mackerel Men and Woman can vote for them HERE!
