Heybridge Swifts manager Cliff Akurang has bolstered his touchline team for next season's Ryman North campaign.

The Swifts announced on Wednesday that Akurang, pictured, has brought in Bob Batchford and Mark Ashford to Scraley Road as first-team coaches while retaining the services of his assistant-manager Gavin Dawes.

Ashford has recently been working with the Bishop's Stortford under-21s while Batchford has been at Chelmsford City for over ten years.

Akurang, who took the helm back in December, said: “Bob is also a good friend I've known a long time and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of running clubs.

“He had been working at Chelmsford City, responsible for finding the players that made up arguably their greatest team in the Conference South. Bob will bring attention to detail on opposition strategy and tactical insight.”
