Alexander sacked?

Gary Alexander announces his sacking on social media!

A few hours after celebrating his side's 4-1 win over Herne Bay, Ashford United manager Gary Alexander appears to have stopped celebrating, instead announcing via Twitter that he has been sacked!

In a tweet posted at 2239 on Saturday evening, the former Greenwich Borough manager- and of course Millwall, Brentford and Crawley Town player, tweeted:

'Sacked at 1020 whilst lying in bed over a text. Good luck @AshfordUnitedFC and @AUFC Fans It's been pleasure.'

United have won their last three matches, after earlier going through a rather sticky patch with three consecutive defeats, but this news seems to have come entirely out of the blue. Alexander’s Assistant John Mackie and physio Huseyin Torgut are also understood to have left the club.
