This final match of the season was preceded by a minutes silence to salute former Boro favourite Terry Tapping who played for the club from 1965-77.

On a hot Easter Monday afternoon mid table Romford had really nothing to play for while Ilford, on the fringes of the relegation zone, needed points.
It was a party atmosphere as East Thurrock claimed the three points they needed to wrap up the league championship. after a 3-0 win at the Oakside.
This wa not a typical end of season game. Boro want to stay in the top half of the table while Sudbury need to maintain their play-off place challenge
East Thurrock United 2, Brentwood 2
This was a well matched game in which the home side, riding their luck after a missed 30 minute Boro penalty, scored two second half goals to clinch all three points despite the visitors continuous efforts to get onto the scoresheet.
Redbridge slumped to their fourth league defeat in a row as visiting Romford’s energetic performance proved too much for Jody Brown’s Motormen.
With this first victory in six games Boro went above their last season’s final points total and moved back to ninth place in the league table.

A strong second half performance from Heybridge saw of a below-par Redbridge, as the visitors strolled to a comfortable victory at the Oakside.
Boro failed to make any headway against a Brentwood side which is now almost certain to qualify for an end of season play off place with their win.
Twice coming back from being a goal down Romford gave an inconsistent performance and eventually went down by the odd goal in five.

With a much depleted squad due to a long injury list Romford lost narrowly to title contenders Needham Market in a game that they deserved more from.

Redbridge slumped to a disappointing defeat to bottom-placed side Waltham Forest at Cricklefields as a poor first half performance came back to haunt Jody Brown’s team on the night.
Ilford 0, East Thurrock United 4
Redbridge cruised to a 3-1 win at Great Wakering Rovers to move up to 16th in the league, completing a league double over Rovers this season.
Potters Bar Town 0, East Thurrock United 2
Romford’s cause wasn’t helped by injury and substitution within the first 15 minutes for Alex Read (severe concussion) and Andy Edmunds (back injury).
Tilbury snatch it at the death thanks to Aaron Matthews finish!
