Billericay get back to winning ways- and back to the summit

...whilst Swifts close to within eight points of the playoffs

A waterlogged pitch at the AGP Arena forced Billericay Town to move tonights match with Dorking Wanderers twenty five miles to Aveley, but perhaps the change of destination brought them luck as they managed a win which took them back to the top of the Bostik Premier Division.

After four consecutive defeats there had been talk of a crisis, but joint managers Wheeler and Tamplin would have remained well aware that they had seven games in hand over leaders Folkestone Invicta, and five over season-long rivals Dulwich Hamlet. They left it late to record a victory tonight, and had to fight hard for it against a Wanderers side who had lost only one of their last ten matches- but a Sam Deering goal from ten yards ten minutes from time delivered a welcome three points.

The Blues now sit above Invicta on goal difference, a point clear of Hamlet in third, and two points ahead of Margate in fourth.

In the North Division Heybridge Swifts recovered from conceding a first minute goal to record a victory which takes them to within nine points of the Bostik North playoff places- with five matches in hand. John Watson put Witham Town ahead, but Matthew Price was on hand to score his seventh and eighth goals for the Scraley Road club since joining from Brentwood Town and seal the victory.

Swifts move up to tenth place, Witham Town sit in fourteenth.
