Blues rob Seed Growers...

...whilst Terrors and Oysterboys power to victory

We had three matches at Step Four last night, one each in the North Division, South Central Division and South East Division. And everyone watching got value for money, as we had five goals per game!

Starting in the North Division, playoff certainties (well, almost) Coggeshall Town came into their match with Brentwood Town on the back of seven straight victories, and it looked very much as if they'd extend that run to eight when Nnamdi Nwachuku put them ahead in the eighth minute. But Brentwood decided otherwise.

The Blues have spent the entire season searching for consistency, sometimes brilliant, sometimes awful- but the second half at West Street saw them hit the heights, as they walloped three goals in twelve minutes through Mitchel Hunter, Connor Martin and Ryan Mallett. Nwachuku was able to reduce the arrears, but Brentwood ran out 3-2 winners. They've now beaten four of the top five in all competitions this season, and climb to eleventh, whilst Coggeshall remain third.

Moving to the South Central Division, Tooting & Mitcham United managed to keep their playoff hopes alive, bouncing back after conceding THAT comical own goal on Saturday to defeat Molesey 3-2 at Walton Road. They were three ahead by the break- Daryl Coleman, Danny Bassett and Saidou Khan with the goals- but had to withstand a Moles onslaught after the break. Marley Hamilton and Ryan Marklew managing to reduce the deficit to one, but the home side couldn't find an equaliser. Tooting are seventh, six points from the last playoff spot, whilst Molesey remain second bottom, albeit with games in hand remaining over third bottom South Park.

Finally, in the South East Division Whitstable Town continued with their recent good form by winning their third match in a row- and they did it in style, defeating VCD Athletic by four goals to one. Mind you, they did play an entire hour against NINE men, after both Malachi Hudson and Usman Adeniji were sent off for Vickers on the half-hour.

At the time of the sendings-off the score was 1-1, Stephen Smith putting the Oysterboys ahead in the second minute only for Ali Fuseini to equalise eight minutes later- but as you might imagine it was an uphill struggle for the nine-man visitors afterwards, Harry Stannard, Nick Treadwell and Ricky Freeman adding to the goals as Whitstable made it comfortable and climbed to thirteenth. VCD remain in seventh place, eleven points away from a playoff spot.
