Bognor sign a midfielder- and call off a semi-final

Bognor call off Brighton match due to unprecedented injury crisis

Bognor Regis Town have eased their injury crisis a little with the signing of Canadian midfielder Emmett Dunn. But Emmett won’t get his Rocks debut against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Sussex Senior Cup this week, as the club have had to call it off!

Actually Dunn, who is dual registered with SCFL neighbours and pace setters Chichester City, wouldn’t have been able to play in that match anyway as he isn’t quite match fit- but on that basis he will fit in well with the rest of the squad at Nyewood Lane, as they currently resemble a band of walking wounded! Manager Jack Pearce has confirmed that the club have received the agreement of their professional opponents and the Sussex County FA to postpone the Semi-Final tie, which they were scheduled to host, after injuries to Keaton Wood, Jimmy Wild, Mason Walsh, Dan Lincoln, Jimmy Muitt, Calvin Davies, Doug Tuck, Gary Charman, old Uncle Tom Cobley and all! With Harvey Whyte away, three players cup tied and another recalled by parent club Portsmouth the Rocks would have had to ask the crowd to bring their boots!

The match will now be played at Culver Road, Lancing, on 9 April- and you can read more about the Nyewood Lane based episode of Casualty here.
