Borg confirmed as new Blues boss

George Borg has been confirmed as the new manager of Ryman Premier Brentwood Town.

Former AFC Hornchurch, Aldershot, Boreham Wood, Billericay Town, Chelmsford City, Braintree Town and Enfield Town manager Borg took temporary charge two weeks ago following Dean Holdsworth's decision to stand down to pursue his business interests.

Holdsworth has since stayed on as director of football at the Blues and recommended Borg as his successor. With Kingstonian involved in the FA Trophy on Saturday, Borg has time to settle in after two defeats as caretaker with the Blues next in action at Needham Market on Tuesday 1 December.

Brentwood Town chairman Brian Hallett confirmed Borg's appointment in an interview with the Brentwood Gazette. "He is the manager," said Hallett. "I didn't know George that well but he's worked with Dean and he recommended him.

"I think he will do a good job. He is open to working with the youngsters we have at the club and he's had a look around and I think he's been impressed by the enthusiasm that's around the club. We've not won in his first two matches but we've played very well in those games."
