Borough to host the Dons!

By Ian Townsend

Borough get Wimbledon, and the Tanners get a less glamorous draw- if they can get past Hitchin

The draw for the First Round of the FA Cup is always a moment of real excitement for any non-league club left in the competition, and tonight we had two- Haringey Borough, conquerors of Poole Town on Saturday, and Leatherhead- who of course still have conquering to do if they are to reach the promised land!

Borough, who picked up a cool £25,000 for their victory at the weekend and were represented at the draw- live on BBC2- by manager Tom and Chairman Aki, were the first ball drawn by Dennis Wise, and will host AFC Wimbledon. Leatherhead, who of course are used to this sort of attention having got to the Second Round last season, will face Solihull Moors if they can get past Hitchin Town at Fetcham Grove on Wednesday night. The Tanners were represented at Hitchin by supporter Jeremy.

Fixtures will be played on or around 10th November, and winners will receive thirty six thousand pounds for their efforts.
