Bostik Supporters Predictions 18/19: Chipstead

Do you want Chips with that? You'd best accompany Trevor Stotten to the Muddy Boot Snack Bar!

We asked supporters of our Bostik League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-20 (or 22) will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.

Trevor Stotten introduces Chipstead, and offers to provide a taxi service!

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

The Muddy Boot Snack Bar- chips with mayo available, in case you think you're in Belgium.

Winning 2-0 at Faversham Town, always a tough place to go.

2. And your worst moment?

Losing 3-0 at Ramsgate, after the long car drive, following an early morning bus driving shift.

3. How will you do this season?

Last year's target was 60 points, which we didn't quite achieve. This season is rather an unknown, with lots of new opposition all of whom will want to do well, but hopefully we'll be pushing towards the top of the division.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

Visiting the several new grounds, starting with Chalfont St Peter on 11th August.

5. What is your favourite away ground?

Tooting & Mitcham United. Imperial Fields holds up to 3500, surely they'll climb the non-league ladder one day with that set-up.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

With the restructuring taking away our closest club, Whyteleafe, and with Carshalton Athletic and Merstham escaping with recent promotions, I'd say South Park now- especially as we have signed a few of their players for the coming season.

7. What advice would you give to any away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Come by car! We are not blessed with the best public transport links. You can get a 405 bus to Hooley, then walk up Star Lane, but some of the route has no pavements - or you can catch a train to Coulsdon South or Chipstead, with a similarly long walk to our ground (or a cab ride, probably best from Coulsdon South). However, any visitors will be welcomed at our bar, and, if you explain you've come by public transport, folks like me will give you a lift back to the bus or train after the game.

8. Who is your favourite player of all time (for your club)- and why?

I've only been involved at Chipstead for 3 years, getting more and more entwined(!), but, in that time, I'd say Matt Warren. He always gives 100% when he pulls on the shirt, and must surely be one of the first names on manager Antony Williams' teamsheets.

9. Who will be in the top five at the end of the season?

Not answered.
