Bostik Supporters Predictions 18/19: Dorking Wanderers

Hugo Manuel sings the praises of the Incredible Huk!

We asked supporters of our Bostik League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-20 (or 22) will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.

Hugo Manuel looks forward to the new campaign, a new ground, and some wonderful football.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

It has to be the last game of the season where we said goodbye to Westhumble with an 8-0 win over Lowestoft Town.

2. And your worst moment?

Matt Briggs injury at Burgess Hill Town. One of our star players last season, who picked up a horrific facial injury which ruled him out for almost the entire remainder of the campaign.

3. How will you do this season?

We have signed some quality players so far this summer so I think top 5 and maybe even promotion.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

We love visiting new grounds so Hornchurch, Potters Bar and Haringey Borough definitely stand out-but our favourite grounds from last year were Corinthian Casuals and Tonbridge Angels as both of them have a very good setup.

5. What is your favourite away ground?

Lewes,’The Dripping Pan’, an outstanding ground for a club at this level.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

Leatherhead is always a big game for us- and this year especially as they will also be fighting for promotion. Plus the movement of players between the clubs adds spice to the fixture.

7. What advice would you give to any away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Limited parking as you can’t park at the ground, but there are local car parks so get down the ground early. Obviously we are at a new ground this year which has many great facilities- a fanzone, Healthy Kitchen, Bar and an exceptional club shop/ programme shop.

8. Who is your favourite player of all time (for your club)- and why?

At the moment it has to be our goalkeeper Slavimor Huk. He is outstanding between the sticks and is also know for his superb performance in the play off final against Corinthian Casuals a couple of years ago, when he was the hero for Dorking in the penalty shootout- saving many penalties including the deciding penalty which sent us up.

9. Who will be in the top five at the end of the season?

Dorking Wanderers, Bishops Stortford, Bognor Regis Town, Margate, Tonbridge Angels

Where next?
