Bostik Supporters Preview 17/18: Burgess Hill Town

On this occasion our supporters preview takes us to the land of Green Elephants, and our prediction master is Dan Gander.

We asked a supporter from each of our member clubs to answer the same series of questions as part of our preview of the new season. We also asked them to predict how their particular division would finish, from one to 24- and their answers will be revealed in a collection of Supporters Prediction Tables to be released the day before the big kick off.

Here are the answers of Dan Gander, representing Burgess Hill Town.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

Harrow Borough away with a good win, if we'd lost that then there would be been no chance on the final day of the season to stay up.

2. And your worst moment?

The Dover FA Cup game, players froze on the day when they had a good chance of winning.

3. How will you do this season?

Survival is key but it’s a very tough league, the promoted clubs always seem to start well then drop away, if we start the season well then maybe a safe mid table finish is possible.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

Kingstonian away, we have a good rapport with the Table One support, we try and meet up with them every season, even on non-football days.

5. What is your favourite away ground?

Probably Leatherhead, although I don’t think they will be at their current ground much longer. With all the flooding they’ve had to contend with they still keep their ground looking neat and tidy, plus standing on the grass band behind the dugouts is good.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

Worthing, has been for a number of years. We just always seem to play them so often other than other Sussex clubs. There was an incident at the ground a number of years ago and it’s just stuck that they dislike us.

7. What advice would you give to any away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Don’t get off at Burgess Hill station unless you want a 20 minute walk from the town centre! Get off at Wivelsfield station (and then turn left and follow the signs to the nature reserve. Yes, really- although it must be said that the nature reserve doesn’t have any real Green Elephants).

8. Who is your favourite player of all time (for your club)- and why?

Ashley Carr, always gave 100% on the pitch, could have played higher than County League but stayed with us for a number of years and scored plenty of goals!

9. Finally, predict who will fill the top five positions at the end of the forthcoming season:

Dulwich Hamlet, Billericay Town, Harlow Town, Lowestoft Town, Margate
