Bostik Supporters Preview 17/18: Bury Town

By Ian Townsend

Another in our series of supporter predictions, this time featuring Ian Dulieu, from beautiful Bury.

We asked a supporter from each of our member clubs to answer the same series of questions as part of our preview of the new season. We also asked them to predict how their particular division would finish, from one to 24- and their answers will be revealed in a collection of Supporters Prediction Tables to be released the day before the big kick off.

Here are the answers of Ian Dulieu, representing Bury Town.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

The 3-2 home win over Maldon & Tiptree, twice coming from behind to beat the league leaders.

2. And what was the worst moment?

Going out of the FA Cup at the first stage, losing 3-0 at home to Spalding United.

3. How will you do this season?

We have a stronger squad this season, so if we can avoid long terms injuries i think we'll make the play offs.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to- and why?

A.F.C Sudbury home and away, great rivalry between the two clubs and always the biggest crowds of the league season.

5. What is your favourite away ground?

Maidstone United but in the Bostik North division it'd be Romford (Thurrock).

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

A.F.C Sudbury. closest team to us throughout the years- although we now have Mildenhall Town too- but it's always great playing against them, and we hate seeing each other do well!

7. What advice would you give to an away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Come early and make a day of it, visit the historic town before the game. Bury town fans are a friendly crowd, so enjoy a beer in the new clubhouse and the food is first class.

8. Who is your favourite player (for your club) of all time- and why?

Gavin Johnson. even though he came to Bury Town after retiring from the professional game, having played for Ipswich, Wigan and Dunfermline amongst others. He controlled the game every time he played, and was always approachable after the game and in his warm downs. A class player on and off the pitch.

9. Finally, predict who will fill the top five positions at the end of the forthcoming season:

AFC Hornchurch, Canvey Island, Maldon & Tiptree, Cheshunt, Bury Town.
