Bostik Supporters Preview 17/18: Chipstead

By Ian Townsend

We delve deeper into the South Division for this set of predictions. Trevor Stotten for Chipstead FC might drive the bus but he doesn't advocate parking it.

We asked a supporter from each of our member clubs to answer the same series of questions as part of our preview of the new season. We also asked them to predict how their particular division would finish, from one to 24- and their answers will be revealed in a collection of Supporters Prediction Tables to be released the day before the big kick off.

Here are the answers of Trevor Stotten, representing Chipstead.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

Drawing 3-3 at high-flying Hastings in the last game of the season-we were safe from relegation, so the pressure was off, and we came back for a well-earned point to send us into the close season.

2. And what was the worst moment?

Losing 7-0 at home to eventual champions Tooting & Mitcham.

3. How will you do this season?

Aiming for the 40 points deemed as the safety mark as soon as possible- although only 1 team gets relegated this year- and hoping to beat our best ever 10th place in the league.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to- and why?

All matches, home & away, where my bus-driving shifts allow!

5. What is your favourite away ground?

Hastings.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

Whyleleafe, I guess, although we never do well on their 4G pitch -Carshalton too, it was good to beat them twice last season.

7. What advice would you give to an away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Make yourself known in the bar to receive the customary Chipstead warm welcome, enjoy the experience and get hooked to come back, as happened to me 3 years ago.

8. Who is your favourite player (for your club) of all time- and why?

Danny Cumber - still is - gives everything in every game he plays - top man!

9. Finally, predict who will fill the top five positions at the end of the forthcoming season:

Lewes, Hastings Utd, Greenwich Borough, Corinthian Casuals, Carshalton Athletic.
