Bostik Supporters Preview 17/18: Lowestoft Town

Hayley from the seaside gives us the lowdown on the world of Lowestoft Town.

We asked a supporter from each of our member clubs to answer the same series of questions as part of our preview of the new season. We also asked them to predict how their particular division would finish, from one to 24- and their answers will be revealed in a collection of Supporters Prediction Tables to be released the day before the big kick off.

Here are the answers of Hayley Maud, representing Lowestoft Town.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

I had a lot of great moments last season, at Crown Meadow and on away days. But my most memorable was my day at Canvey island with my fellow Lowestoft supporters. The team weren't at the races that day but we had a great time and lots of laughs; that's what non league is all about! A close second was winning a pie at Burgess Hill after finding the picture in a programme.

2. And what was the worst moment?

I can't say that I have any particularly worst moments! The only one I can think of was when we had a shortage of available players and struggled a little, but the players battled on and wore their hearts on their sleeves!

3. How will you do this season?

I think we have an outside chance of making the play-offs but have to maintain a strong team throughout the season to do so. It's always hard to say during pre season, but the team I've seen looks committed for the long season which lies ahead.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to- and why?

I’m looking forward to all of the away games I can go too! Especially the newcomers in the league- Brightlingsea, Dorking, Tooting and Mitcham and Thurrock. I'd also like to make the trip to Billericay to see how they have got on with ground developments, I've seen a lot of changes in pictures but would like to see that in person. I imagined it's changed a lot since my last trip(s) in the 13/14 season.

5. What is your favourite away ground?

Favourite away ground has to be Worthing FC; great set up, friendly supporters, very welcoming, good food, good bar inside and out! One of the best 3G pitches I've seen us play on.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

Our biggest rivals have to be Leiston. Our local Derby in the league. Thanks for the 6 points lads!

7. What advice would you give to an away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Leave as early as possibly because we are the most easterly club in the UK! Other than that, our club is very friendly and welcoming and has good food and drink facilities. We’ve had a fair few away supporters who have stayed the weekend, and if that sounds like your type of thing then go for it! There are lots of holiday parks nearby along our lovely coast!

8. Who is your favourite player (for your club) of all time- and why?

He's not with the club anymore but I'm going for penalty king Jack Ainsley. He was with us in our first season in National League North and was the clubs highest goal scorer ( he scored a lot of penalties!) along with being solid in defence keeping us in a lot of games. This was a hard choice as there are a lot of great players at Lowestoft past and present!

9. Finally, predict who will fill the top five positions at the end of the forthcoming season:

Dulwich Hamlet, Billericay Town, Enfield Town, Tonbridge Angels, Harlow Town.
