Bostik Supporters Preview 17/18: Needham Market

We asked a supporter from each of our member clubs to answer the same series of questions as part of our preview of the new season. We also asked them to predict how their particular division would finish, from one to 24- and their answers will be revealed in a collection of Supporters Prediction Tables to be released the day before the big kick off.

Here are the answers of Mark Coleman, representing Needham Market.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

Winning the Suffolk premier cup final 3-2 v Lowestoft Town at Colchester Utd. Having defeated Leiston on penalties in the semis in what many supporters and journalists said was the best game they'd ever seen in non league football.

2. And what was the worst moment?

Dropping out of the play offs in April, having been top 5 since September and having had 4 weeks prior to Christmas on top of the tree. It's only 22 years ago we were playing Suffolk and Ipswich League.

3. How will you do this season?

Hopefully top ten, pushing into the play offs and also having the really good FA Cup run which the club deserves.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to- and why?

On a personal level, Folkestone away. For the second year running we have them away on my birthday weekend and I love that area so I’m looking forward to that. Also new places to visit like Tooting & Mitcham and Dorking Wanderers. And I've got to admit I'm drooling at the thought of going to Margate in November.

5. What is your favourite away ground?

Dulwich Hamlet. Not just for the stadium but also the surrounding area. Always go and park at the ground and go into town, take a look round. East Dulwich is like a different world to Suffolk.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

This is easy, Leiston! Always will be. There are people on both sides who are friends with each other, but as for supporters, well...

7. What advice would you give to an away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Don't expect too much of our town. We have a high street and according to trip advisor the 4th best place to visit in Needham is an antique shop! Great pub on the high street called The Swan, great railway station 15 minutes uphill walk from the ground. Once at Bloomfields you'll get a great welcome and a great bar and my kids will pester you until you buy 50/50 tickets from us! Club shop is in the pipeline.

8. Who is your favourite player (for your club) of all time- and why?

Danny Thrower! He was with us from 2006-2011 and put in 100% week in week out and was commited and loyal. Oh and is my kids godfather.

9. Finally, predict who will fill the top five positions at the end of the forthcoming season:

Billericay Town, Margate, Leatherhead, Folkestone Invicta, Needham Market.
