Bostik Supporters Preview 17/18: Potters Bar Town

The latest in our series of supporter season previews comes from new arrivals Potters Bar Town, courtesy of Alan Evans.

We asked a supporter from each of our member clubs to answer the same series of questions as part of our preview of the new season. We also asked them to predict how their particular division would finish, from one to 24- and their answers will be revealed in a collection of Supporters Prediction Tables to be released the day before the big kick off.

Here are the answers of Alan Evans representing Potters Bar Town.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

Easy one. Beating Bath City in the FA Cup. After a tough draw at our place we went behind in the replay and thought that was that. But Muzza pulled it back and the game went to extra time. Despite our goal being bombarded for most of the added period we hung on to take the game to a penalty shoot-out . Great scenes when we won that I don't think anyone there will ever forget .

2. And your worst moment?

Another easy one. 3-0 up away at Fleet we somehow managed to draw 4-4 . A great game for the neutral, and probably Fleet fans but with the final equaliser coming in the 95th minute from a somewhat dubious penalty ..... I'm not a neutral!

3. How will you do this season?

We would look to improve again on last seasons 9th place in Southern League Div One Central and hopefully challenge for a play off spot.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to - and why?

I think most people will be looking forward to seeing Aveley's shiny new ground though I’m not the biggest fan of an artificial surface. Also Norwich United. Never been there and we do love a trip. It will also be good to have some local derbies again after transferring back to the Isthmian from the Southern League.

5. What is your favourite away ground?

Histon last season was nice but for various reasons I'd go for Summers Lane ground of Wingate and Finchley. Art Deco stand and Palm Trees - whats not to like.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

In The Spartan League days it would probably have been Colney Heath and London Colney. More recently games against Wingate and Finchley and Northwood have proved a bit "feisty". Probably due to Staff and player associations. For this season we look forward to a few more local games and Cheshunt, Ware , Hertford, and Waltham Abbey should be interesting.

7. What advice would you give to any away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Beware the M25!! and don't bother with the local pubs. Our bar opens early.

8. Who is your favourite player of all time (for your club)- and why?

I won't embarrass any of our current squad by naming them but the Bararmy loves them all. Many would perhaps name someone from the 2004/5 promotion winning side but I'd go for Tom Pett (now Stevenage) - pure class and great attitude.

9. Finally, predict who will fill the top five positions at the end of the forthcoming season:

Canvey Island, Maldon & Tiptree, Hornchurch, Harringey Borough, Cheshunt.
