Canvey bring in two, and Alexander brings in a familiar face as his assistant

Two new signings reported for Canvey Island, whilst Nuts and Bolts boss appoints a second in command on his first day

It is being reported that, ahead of Canvey Island's Bostik North Division Playoff Semi Final at Bowers & Pitsea on Wednesday evening, the Gulls have made two new signings. Whilst this has not been confirmed by the club website or social media, the Thurrock Gazette is reporting that National League South top scorer Sam Higgins and his East Thurrock United team mate James White have joined the club on dual registration terms.

In response to a number of questions asked via social media by interested supporters from other clubs, these signings, if indeed confirmed, are not contrary to any league rule.

The Thurrock Gazette report can be viewed here.

Meanwhile, in his first official day as Ashford United boss Gary Alexander has not let the grass grow, and has appointed John Mackie as his Assistant. Mackie, you may recall, was also his second in command at Greenwich Borough until both left the Cannons at the end of last year. For more news on that story, visit the club website here.
