Chairman takes leadership to new heights!

By David Watters

Nobody could accuse Whyteleafe chairman Mark Coote of not leading from the front at the Ryman South club and now he's proved he's not short of a head for heights either!

When a brand new set of floodlights needed installing at Church Road ahead of Saturday's big kick-off to the new campaign and reluctant to palm off the sky high job on others, Coote and his son Danny are pictured dismantling the old system themselves!

After losing 1-0 away on the opening day at Faversham, home fans will get their first chance to see John Fowler's side in action under their newly installed floodlights on Tuesday night when Whyteleafe host East Grinstead Town in a 7.45pm kick-off.

Whyteleafe's new state-of-the-art system was installed as part of a major summer makeover at the Surrey ground and a club spokesman said: "As part of a major facelift project our chairman and his son took a hands-on approach to the job. Fortunately, Mark has a very good head for heights!"
