Needham Market

Needham Market have rewarded manager Mark Morsley with a new five year deal for leading them to promotion into the top flight as Ryman North champions.

The Marketmen, who will be kicking off in the Ryman Premier in August after taking the title on the final day of the campaign with an emphatic 5-0 win at Chatham Town, have announced that Morsley, pictured, has happily torn up a four year deal signed in February 2013 to extend his stay at Bloomfields.

According to a statement released by officials on Tuesday, Morsley, who was at helm in his first spell at the club for three years between 2003 and 2006, sat down with the Suffolk club's chief executive Graham Emmerson to sign his new long term deal.

A club spokesman said: "Mark will always say that it is the people that he works with that have achieved this [the title and promotion] but in any organisation it needs good leaders and Mark is a good leader so the club wanted to ensure he will lead us further. Who knows, we could be playing Conference South football within five years?"

Morsley said: "It was a very easy decision to come to. The club have supported me and my staff fully since my return and I really believe we have the potential and infrastructure to move up the Non-League ladder. This promotion is all a part of the journey that we as a club are on."
