Charity begins...in Sussex

Worthing and Hastings United announce charity matches

Two of our Sussex seaside clubs will host charity matches, it has been announced- with the first one as soon as next Sunday.

Worthing's Woodside Road will open its doors at noon on Sunday 4th February (kick off at half past one) for the annual Chestnut Tree House Children's Hospice Celebrity match. It will feature the likes of Paul Konchesky, recently seen strutting his stuff for Billericay Town, alongside Neil 'Razor' Ruddock and a number of others who may be familiar to you but mean nothing to the old bloke writing this article (Dappy? Scott Nicholls? Matt Lapinskas? Heavy D?) but are obviously wonderful considering they are giving up their time for such a magnificent cause. Find out more and buy tickets here.

Next, on 22nd April, a Tottenham Hotspur Legends side will take on the Hastings United Veterans at Pilot Field in aid of the Conquest Hospital MRI Scanner Appeal. Tickets are a fiver each- or there's a VIP opportunity at £20- and they can be purchased from Friday via the Hastings United Sports & Social Club or from the Hastings Tourist Information Office.

Find more information on that match at the Hastings United website.
