Coming together signals community intent

The chairman of Faversham Town's youth section reckons the promotion-hunting Ryman South club have sent a real signal of intent to their local community.

To celebrate the coming together of the youth and senior sections at the FA Charter Standard Community club, all of Faversham's players gathered for a mass team photo ahead of their victory over Sittingbourne on the Saturday after Christmas, pictured.

More than 200 players and coaches of all ages from six upwards resplendent in the Kent club's famous lilywhite strip posed for the picture before cheering on Ray Turner's side to a 3-0 win over the Brickies at Salters Lane.

Youth chairman Keith Chilvers said: "The photo sends a real statement about Faversham Town and its commitment to the community. It was fantastic to see a sea of white and black kits with children of all ages going right up to the first-team squad."

The Lilywhites say the image can now be purchased by fans and players as a permanent record of the historic moment and start to a new era at the Kent club.
