Double signing boosts attack

Erith & Belvedere

Erith & Belvedere have boosted their attacking options ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend by bringing former striker Marcus Cassius back for their Ryman North campaign and signing midfielder Chris Edwards from Thamesmead Town, writes Adam Peters.

Joint managers Chris Cosgrove and Martin Ford announced the double deal on Friday with both players available for Saturday's visit of Chatham Town to Park View Road.

Cassius, 23, returns from Phoenix Sports to boost their forward line while Edwards, 22, arrives at last season's promoted Kent League champions as an attacking midfielder.

The Deres have won twice and drawn one of their four outings since stepping up this season and Ford said: "I'm absolutely delighted to welcome the lads to the side and believe they will give us the opportunity to build on our fantastic start to life in the Ryman League."
