Borough bag a new boss

Greenwich Borough announce replacement for Gary Alexander

Greenwich Borough yesterday announced that their replacement for Gary Alexander, who departed the club last week along with assistant John Mackie, is Ashford United coach Paul Barnes.

Nuts and Bolts boss Jason Whitmore, speaking to ashfordunitedfc.com, stated:

'Paul was approached by Greenwich and he informed me Monday that they wanted to speak to him about the vacant managers job.

After his meeting today they have offered him a great opportunity to Manage them. Although we didn’t want Paul to leave we understand the opportunity was too good for him to turn down.'

In making the announcement, Borough confirmed that Barnes will be taking first team training tonight and will be in the dug out as the Cannons take on Herne Bay on Saturday. Read their statement here.
