Rooks change keepers

By Ian Townsend

Lewes get a new man between the sticks

Lewes have announced that promotion-winning keeper Chris Winterton has 'retired'- and that his replacement is Thamesmead Town stopper Lewis Carey.

Carey, who turned out for Lewes' East Sussex rivals Eastbourne Borough earlier in his career, made 52 appearances last season including three against the Rooks- conceding only two goals to his new teammates and picking up two points and an FA Cup victory. Undoubtedly the Lewes strikeforce will be glad to see him behind them rather than in front of them!

The very best of luck to Winnie in his future endeavours.
