Rooks go fourth- and Town trounce Romford

By Ian Townsend

Victories for Lewes and Brentwood

Lewes manager Darren Freeman was very satisfied with his side after they delivered "a great team performance," in defeating Corinthian-Casuals at the Dripping Pan last night. Speaking after the match, he expressed his delight with the "clean sheet, scoring three goals, and creating chances," whilst hailing their newfound strength in depth and looking forward to Saturday's fixture at Brightlingsea Regent Bishop's Stortford. You can watch the interview here.

He had much to be happy about as the Rooks comprehensively dismantled Casuals to record their sixth victory in their last eight league matches. Omarr Lawson opened the scoring in the first half, then after the break Kieron Pamment finished well from a tight angle, firing above the heads of two onrushing defenders into the net despite being only six yards out, before Dayshonne Golding finished the rout thirteen minutes from time.

The Rooks climb to fourth, whilst Casuals are eleventh- and you can both read and listen to the match programme here.

In the North Division Romford haven't been able to buy a win lately, and last night lost their seventh match from eight as visitors Brentwood Town turned on the style. Charlee Hughes grabbed a hat trick, and Tony Stokes the other, with Nick Reynolds getting a consolation as Town won 4-1. It was Brentwood's first away victory of the season, and sees them climb to eleventh.

Anyone searching for a football fix tonight might want to head to Ashford Town or Worthing, where there are two Reposs Women's Cup Quarter Final ties. The Tangerines host Margate, and Leyton Orient will be the visitors to Woodside Road.
