Safe Hands Awards- sponsored by Sells Goalkeeping Products- March 2018

By Ian Townsend

Who won the awards for the meanest defences of March?

The Safe Hands Awards- sponsored by Sells goalkeeping products- goes to the following deserved winners for March 2018:

Premier Division: Leiston

Leiston had a magnificent March, unbeaten in six matches which included four victories, but for this award we compliment their mean defence, which conceded only four times during those six matches- including twice in a draw against Margate.

Well done to all at Victory Road!

North Division: AFC Hornchurch

Good results are always built on a strong defence, and with the Urchins ten points clear at the top of the North Division and having conceded only thirty goals all season we can all see quite how mean their back line is. March saw them concede only one goal.

Congratulations to all at Bridge Avenue.

South Division: Corinthian-Casuals

Casuals have the second best defensive record in the South Division, and during March conceded only two goals as they cemented their position in the playoff places. Congratulations to all at King George's Field, and our best wishes to keeper Danny Bracken as he begins his recovery from serious injury.
