betting.net Performance of the Month Award- December 2017

By Ian Townsend

The prizes for December head to North London, East Anglia and the Kent coast

December was a month filled with exceptional performances, and it was rather difficult to pick three winners- but after much debate the Bostik League jury decided that the betting.net Performance of the Month Award winners would be as follows:

Premier Division

Hendon had a fairly exceptional December, with seven victories in all competitions and Niko Muir scoring for fun, but we decided to give them the award for their excellent victory over National League South Bath City- at Silver Jubilee Park in the FA Trophy. Arthur Lee and Keagan Cole scored the goals in a 2-1 victory which sees them face Sutton United in the next round this weekend.

North Division

When you’re struggling at the wrong end of the table without a victory in nine matches and one of the title favourites come to call, the outcome can be fairly easy to predict. But on 16th December Norwich United turned the form book on its head, recording a 4-3 victory over Canvey Island at Plantation Park. You might think that such a result was enough to earn the award in itself, but we’ve gone not for the club but for the player who scored all FOUR of the goals- Liam Jackson.

By the way, the Planters are now five games undefeated, which shows what a catalyst such a result can be.

South Division

When Lewes travelled to the Southwood Stadium on 16th December the Rooks faithful made the journey to the Kent coast filled with confidence- after all, their side was top of the league, and the Rams were anything but consistent. Ninety minutes later and it was the supporters from the seaside who had reason to sing, after two goals from Tom Chapman gave the home side a deserved 2-0 victory. And now they can sing some more, as Ramsgate have been awarded the Performance of the Month Award for their exploits.
