Blackburn kids fall to Thurrock

By Peter Butcher

LIKE the weather, the pre-season programme is hotting up and three Ryman League clubs were in action last night (Monday).

Thurrock, preparing for their return to Ryman football after nine seasons in Conference South, hosted a Premiership club's youngsters for the second time in three days.

Having lost 2-1 to West Ham on Saturday, they came from behind to beat Blackburn 2-1 last night. The fixture (action pictured by Mikey Cartwright) was the result of Thurrock's visit to Ewood Park in the third round of the FA Youth Cup last season.

Harrow Borough strolled to a 4-0 victory at North Greenford with absent manager Dave Anderson desperately appealing for score updates on Twitter!

A youthful Maidstone side came back from 2-0 down to draw 3-3 at Kent League side Erith Town.
