Love Island castaway welcome on a beach nearer home

Margate looking forward to welcoming Mike Thalassitis home- despite reports to the contrary

Margate Chairman Alistair Bayliss is rather irritated- but not, as some media reports might have you believe, with striker Michael Thalassitis. His irritation is instead saved for the authors of media reports suggesting that the club are somehow angry with the player for appearing on reality TV.

Bayliss insists that, contrary to the claims of some commentators, Thalassitis is still very much part of the plans at Hartsdown Park- and indeed that everyone at the club is supporting him as he returns to the reality TV show Love Island.

Thalassitis, who agreed a new one year deal at the end of last season, is due to return to the club ahead of the new campaign. Bayliss stated:

“As a club we would we never want to stand in the way of a personal opportunity of this magnitude.

Mike is a top guy who is well liked around the club and we wish him all the best upon his return to the Villa.

We are looking forward to having him back with us, and of him being part of what we hope will be a very successful season for Margate Football Club”.
