Macron Manager of the Month Awards

Kingstonian's Alan Dowson, Crawley Down Gatwick's Simon Wormull and VCD Athletic's Tony Russell were named on Monday as the Ryman League's first Macron Managers of the Month.

August's winning trio will be presented with glass trophies marking the inaugural divisional honours at upcoming home fixtures by representatives from the Ryman League and sponsors Macron.

The three managers are now also in the running for the end of season Manager of the Year awards having put down early markers to be named as the Ryman's top bosses next May.

Dowson, who arrived at Kingstonian in 2007 and is in his seventh season at Kingsmeadow, wins the top flight's award after leading his side to the top of the table with five wins, a draw and a single defeat in August.

In Ryman North, Tony Russell led his squad to promotion from the Kent League in May. The rookie Ryman manager collected the division's opening managerial honour after taking his side's form from last term into the current campaign to win all five outings since stepping up.

Ryman South winner Simon Wormull replaced veteran manager John Maggs at Crawley Down Gatwick last season. He proved in August that he is comfortably filling his legendary predecessor's shoes at the Anvils, winning the division's award after also guiding his table-toppers to five wins from five.
