Award winners close meeting!

By David Watters

One of the Football Association's key figures shaping disciplinary policy has been explaining the latest changes the governing body is considering to improve the game to the Ryman League's clubs.

Mark Ives, the FA's Head of Judicial Services, was at the Thurrock Hotel on Sunday to speak to an audience made up of chairman, secretaries and officials representing all 72 clubs in the Ryman Premier, Ryman North and Ryman South divisions.

Topics Ives addressed before taking questions on included standardising the rules governing suspensions handed out by county FAs and new initiatives on player identity to continue cutting the instances of clubs playing ineligible players.

Clubs attending the get together - which also served as an Extraordinary General Meeting to formally adopt new standardised rules the game's governing body is bringing in - also heard from Matt James at the Football Foundation on the best ways to secure grant funding.

MGV Productions, who hope to launch a new online Ryman League MOTD-style show, were also invited to give a presentation on their proposals, entertaining clubs with a short pilot produced for the meeting.

Folkestone Invicta, Greenwich Borough, Merstham, Tooting & Mitcham United, Worthing and Wroxham didn't leave Sunday's event emptied handed either, collecting glass trophies from Ryman League chairman Nick Robinson on behalf of sponsors Macron as recent winners of the Ryman League's monthly Macron managerial and performances accolades, pictured.
