Brickies welcome the return of their favourite son- and then say goodbye once more

Rowland returns...then leaves again.

Last Saturday Folkestone Invicta striker Kane Rowland was on the bench as his side drew 0-0 at Burgess Hill Town, coming on only for the closing stages. The next time we expected to see him should have been on Saturday 19th January, after his former club, Sittingbourne, confirmed his arrival on a one month loan- but it became perhaps the shortest loan deal in history! Within two minutes of us running the story the Brickies announced the departure of manager Aslan Odev, and soon afterwards Rowland decided that, on that basis, he wasn’t coming after all!

Rowland scored eighteen league goals for the Brickies last season before being tempted by a move to the Premier Division, but although he has made twenty four appearances for Invicta this season, scoring six times, half of those have been from the bench. Supporters at Woodstock Park would have welcomed the return of their favourite as their side look to turn around a run which has seen them win only once in their last ten matches, and indeed expressed their delight- but now have no striker and no manager!

Once we have more news on this situation, we shall update you.
