Frank King R.I.P

We join with Horsham FC in mourning the loss of their esteemed President

Horsham FC have confirmed that their President, Frank King, has passed away.

Horsham FC had been a major part of Frank's life for more than seven decades, and it isn't stretching the truth to suggest that Frank was the very life and soul of the club for much of that period. In the 1980's, particularly, there is little doubt that without his efforts the Hornets would have been no more. He was, without any hyperbole, 'Mr Horsham,' and his loss will be keenly felt not only by his club but by the entire Isthmian community.

Isthmian League Chairman Nick Robinson shared his memories of Frank.

"I am so sad to hear of Frank’s passing. I last saw him at the Playoff Final, and we reminisced as to how many years we had known each other – and how many dogs Frank had had during that time. At the Queen Street ground Frank was always in the Boardroom with one of his dogs, and accordingly we had to make sure the door was kept shut! Frank was delighted to be Life President of the Club and was so pleased that the Club were back at Step 3.

Our condolences go out to his family, and to all at the Club."

The club have produced a beatiful tribute to Frank on their website, and you can read it here.
