Hillians elect a replacement Pope

Burgess Hill Town bring in a new marksman

Burgess Hill Town centre forward Ben Pope suffered a traumatic facial injury in the match against Folkestone Invicta at the weekend- we'll spare you the pictures he shared on social media- and won't be able to play for a few weeks after having his teeth reset. In order to fill that gap, Manager Simon Wormull has brought in Alex Samizadeh from Wealdstone. We don't yet know how long the deal is for!

Samizadeh, originally from Tehran, started his career with Bolton Wanderers and last season played for Kilmarnock. He started this campaign at Curzon Ashton, and is now- as we understand it- on a dual registration deal with Wealdstone. He made his debut for the Hillians tonight in a Sussex Senior Cup match at Pagham.
