Lock secures Robins job

Bracknell Town waste no time in appointing a new manager

On Tuesday we advised you that Bracknell Town manager Geoff Warner had left the Larges Lane club- and the Robins have wasted no time in finding a replacement.

The new man in the dugout is former Maidenhead United number two Sam Lock, who left York Road at the end of the season after being associated with the club since childhood- and working for it for more than a decade. He was Assistant to Alan Devonshire as they won the National League South title and progressed to National League stability, and upon leaving announced that he was doing so only to become a manager in his own right. The Robins seem to be the right club at the right time, and he will be looking to build on last season's second place and Playoff Final defeat to do even better in the forthcoming campaign.

His number two at Larges Lane will be Michael Butcher, and Aaron Steadman comes in from Ascot United to take up the role of first team coach.
