The Bridges - already facing relegation from Ryman South without receiving an FA reprieve this summer if they can't climb out of trouble in their final outings - were left without a pitch to host Cray Wanderers this week and Walton Casuals on Saturday's final day after vandals cut the irrigation system at Jubilee Field, pictured, last Friday night, leaving the pitch unplayable and forcing the postponement of last weekend's originally scheduled clash with the Wands.
East Grinstead Town, who will host the club's rearranged fixture with the Wands on Thursday night and Merstham, who've agreed to stage what could be their final Ryman League match for some time at the weekend when they take on the Stags, were singled out for special praise by Ryman League secretary Kellie Discipline on Wednesday after she sent out a league wide appeal and made numerous phone calls with Bridges secretary Lorraine Bonner to members clubs appealing for emergency hosts.
The Ryman League secretary said: "It was great to see the football family offering support to each other in times of need and both Lorraine and I would like to say a big thank you to Merstham and East Ginstead Town in particular. Thanks also go to Cray Wanderers and Walton Casuals for their understanding and cooperation in these matters."
