Wanderers to entertain Jordan at Meadowbank...

...although we understand she prefers to be called Katie these days!

Dorking Wanderers have announced that- after a number of false starts- their brand new Meadowbank Stadium will officially open on Friday 6th July- and that it will actually see some football two days later, when two celebrity teams will battle it out on the new 3G pitch.

The official opening ceremony will take place on the morning of 6th, but the excitement will happen later in the day- at 7pm to be exact- when Dorking residents, workers, club supporters and other members of the general public are invited to look around the stadium and enjoy complimentary refreshments in the clubhouse.

The open evening will run until 9pm and is a drop-in session, with no need to book in advance- so if you'd like to see the new facility in all its glory and while the whole place still smells of fresh paint, then go along! But if you'd like to see it AND watch some football, then Sunday 8th at 6PM is the time for you- as that's when two teams featuring the likes of Celebrity Love Island winner Calum Best, EastEnders actor Dean Gaffney, singer and I’m a Celebrity winner Kerry Katona, Love Island’s Dom Lever, Stevie Ritchie from The X Factor 2014, Celebrity Big Brother winner Katie Price, Harvey of So Solid Crew and Dan Osborne from The Only Way Is Essex will be taking to the field.

To book tickets- priced at £7 adults - £3 under 18’s and concessions, or a Family Ticket (2 adults & 2 under 18’s) £15- please go here- and it's an all ticket event so you will need to book in advance. As well as the celebrity match there will also be a game between two teams of Dorking Wanderers legends, kicking off at 8PM, and food, music, a children's penalty shootout competition, and the chance to win a holiday in Mexico courtesy of sponsors Kuoni.

We'll be there for the opening ceremony, so look out for news and pictures the on 6th!
