Wasps launch disability football partnership

East Grinstead Town partner with Jubilee Hub Community Centre to launch disability football initiative

East Grinstead Football Club have announced that they will be working in partnership with the local Jubilee Community Centre to develop disability football provision in the area.

After a meeting between Jade Harker, Sussex County FA Disability Football Development Officer, Sarah Wallis from the Jubilee Hub, club chair Richard Tramontin and Matt Longhurst the Wasps first team coach, it was agreed that the club will support the Jubilee Hub to deliver Turn Up and Play Sessions at the community centre with the vision of affiliating a team.

First team manager of East Grinstead Town, Matt Longhurst has also agreed to support Sean Hemmings, captain of the disability side, to pursue his coaching ambitions by becoming his coach mentor- and has given him the chance to attend his training sessions and match days to observe and gain an insight into football coaching. Sean will additionally have the opportunity to coach his Jubilee team mates alongside Matt with the idea of putting his learning into practice, and is looking to recruit more players for his sessions- details on the image below.
