FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round- draw made

By Ian Townsend

The draw for the next Qualifying Round of the FA Cup has just been made. Who did your team get?

Hastings United have just been announced as Tony Incenzo’s Non-League Talksport team of the week for their heroics at Leiston on Saturday. Hopefully they’ll be able to defeat Hitchin Town or Didcot Town with more than eight men on the field!

But Hastings the U’s were one of a number of our sides to kill giants. Worthing’s reward for beating Chelmsford City is a trip to Moneyfields, conquerors of Hayes & Yeading United, whilst Whitehawk, who defeated East Thurrock United, are heading to last season’s Bostik Premier champions Billericay Town, and a Jake Robinson reunion!

Ramsgate, who put out Evo-Stik Southern Premier South side Gosport Borough, will face Hemel Hempstead Town, whilst Hanwell Town, who sent the Trawlerboys home with their nets empty, will travel to Leatherhead, 6-0 winners on Saturday.

Coggeshall Town continue their first ever FA Cup campaign with a trip to Weston Super Mare or Salisbury City, so it’s either speedos or a trip to see the lovely cathedral for the Seed Growers, whilst either Egham or Brightlingsea Regent will host Torquay United and hope not to need a midweek replay!

If Lewes can defeat Kings Langley they’re off to Bath City (Dulwich Hamlet fans were saying very nice things about Bath City at the weekend, so you should enjoy that, Rooks faithful).

Here’s the draw, as it affects our clubs:

  • Haringey Borough v Bognor Regis Town or AFC Sudbury
  • Gloucester City v Dorking Wanderers
  • Leatherhead v Hanwell Town
  • Taunton Town v St Albans City or Corinthian-Casuals (or, until we’ve been told differently, Whyteleafe)
  • Billericay Town v Whitehawk
  • Hitchin Town or Didcot Town v Hastings United
  • Hemel Hempstead Town v Ramsgate
  • Moneyfields v Worthing
  • Bath City v Kings Langley or Lewes
  • Hampton & Richmond Borough v AFC Hornchurch
  • Chippenham Town or Swindon Supermarine v Hendon or Phoenix Sports (or perhaps Lancing, see earlier brackets!)
  • Egham Town or Brightlingsea Regent v Torquay United
  • Weston Super Mare or Salisbury v Coggeshall Town
  • Horsham v Poole Town

Matches scheduled for Saturday 6th October.
