FA Cup Second Qualifying Round- draw announced

By Ian Townsend

Our sides find out who they will face as they move a step closer to Wembley

The draw for the Second Qualifying Round was made earlier this afternoon, and it brings with it some rather enticing ties- and a few which may turn out to be enticing depending on the results of replays!

The reward received by Heybridge Swifts for their 7-0 demolition of Arlesey on Saturday is a trip to Imber Court to face Metropolitan Police, whilst six goal Leatherhead and Horsham will play Ware and Herne Bay respectively. Billericay Town will not necessarily relish their trip to Princes Park given that opponents Thamesmead Town have scored eleven goals in their last two FA Cup ties, whilst Leiston- who finally get a home draw after a succession of away cup matches- face Southern Counties East Football League side Crowborough Athletic. The Crows pushed Ashford United all the way last season in their quest for promotion to our South Division.

A number of our sides will face National League South opposition. Either Hendon or Wingate and Finchley will travel to Hemel Hempstead, Ramsgate- if they can overcome Egham- will visit high flying Chelmsford City, Carshalton Athletic travel to Priory Lane to face Eastbourne Borough, whilst the Scholars of Potters Bar travel to the Beveree, to play Hampton & Richmond Borough.

All ties will be played the weekend of Saturday 16th September. The draw- as it affects our clubs- is below:
