Family commitments have forced Lee Boylan to walk away from his role as first-team player-coach at Heybridge Swifts.

The former West Ham and Canvey Island striker, pictured, joined the coaching staff at Scraley Road in June under former manager Jody Brown and helped hold the fort at the Ryman North club in pre-season until the appointment of manager Keith Wilson.

In a statement announcing the 33-year-old's departure after their 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Soham Town Rangers on Tuesday night, the Swifts said: "We would like to thank Lee for everything that he has done for the club having come in at a time of great change and for taking pre-season prior to manager Keith Wilson taking the helm."
