Bluebirds boss swoops for hot-shot

Harrow Borough striker Ibrahim Meite left the Ryman League on Friday to become Neil Warnock's second signing for Cardiff City in the January 2017 transfer window.

Nicknamed nicknamed 'The Shark' by Boro fans for his predatory instincts in front of goal, the 20-year-old, pictured, penned a professional contract with the Bluebirds until the end of next season after impressing Warnock during a practice match against his first team while on trial with the Championship club's development squad.

Meite has had other suitors while developing under the watchful eye of Harrow manager Steve Baker at Earlsmead, his form in helping the Ryman Premier club reach the first round proper of the Emirates FA Cup earlier this season helping him catch the eye of Leicester City and earning him a trial with the English champions in October.

The forward has scored 17 goals in 30 matches this term for Baker's side and Warnock told the Championship club's fans that signing him was an easy decision to make after seeing him in action during his trial.

He said: "He's a really exciting prospect. I just like the look of him, it's not a difficult situation, there's no fee or anything. I just had a hunch when I saw him play."
