Bostik North transfer news

By Ian Townsend

Canvey, Mildenhall, Grays and Barking made new signings. Mildenhall also promised free beer!

Canvey Island manager Danny Heale must have had a premonition that North Division supporters would predict that his side would finish second, as last night he went out and strengthened his squad with FOUR new signings in an attempt to be just that one place higher! Winger Josh Hutchinson and defenders Jake Jolliffe, Alex Stephenson and Billy Willis are now Gulls- and you can read about those moves here.

Mildenhall Town, not content with offering a free pint of beer to every full paying away supporter, decided that they should also do the Boxer Beat (those of you who weren’t born in the 1980’s are unlikely to understand that reference). They confirmed the signing of former Potters Bar Town centre back Tom Boxer. There isn’t a link to that signing, so here's someone singing about it instead.

Grays Athletic improved their attacking options by bringing in not one but two forwards. First in was ex Bowers, Canvey and Hornchurch player Usman ‘Ozzy’ Adeniji -and you can read about that here. Ozzy was joined by another former Bowers connection, Shomari Barnwell, and for more on that transfer go here.

Finally, Barking strengthened the last line of their defence with the signing of former Sittingbourne and Brentwood Town keeper Mohammed Otuyo.
