Bowers and Canvey sign strikers, Sudbury lose two to the USA

Four North Division moves

Yesterday evening saw four confirmed moves in the North Division, two incoming and two outgoing.

Firstly, Bowers & Pitsea have strengthened for their promotion push by bringing in a striker who already has twenty goals for the season- Jeffrey Cobblah from Essex Senior League side Clapton. The Tons currently sit in fifth place, and they will undoubtedly miss the striker, who scored what turned out to be the winning goal in his last match for the side at Stansted. Bowers travel to Cheshunt tomorrow, and sit in second place in the North Division table.

Sixth place Canvey have also strengthened, bringing back striker Martin Tuohy from Barking. They'll be hoping that Tuohy is just as prolific as he was in his last spell with the club, and you can read more about that move here.

Finally, AFC Sudbury have announced that two of their young players have earned scholarships to US universities. Midfielder Joe Wright will be heading to join ‘The Cardinals’ at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan whilst forward Callum Watson will be joining ‘The Broncos’ of Hastings College Nebraska. More news on that story here.
