Odev resigns from Sittingbourne

Within two minutes of our listing a story about the return of striker Kane Rowland to Woodstock Park, reports surfaced that the manager who persuaded him to make the loan from Folkestone Invicta, Aslan Odev, had resigned from the Sittingbourne hottest.

Odev, who took the role after the resignation of Nick Davis twelve months ago, initially on a temporary basis before later being appointed full time, had been under pressure recently after his side spiralled down the table. They have had only one win in the last ten matches; and indeed, prior to that win over Sevenoaks Town their previous victory was on September 23rd,

The club later issued the following statement:

'Following a Board meeting of Sittingbourne Football Club manager, Aslan Odev, offered his resignation and this was accepted. Sittingbourne Football Club would like to put on record their appreciation for all the hard work he has done during his time with us.

Secretary, John Pitts, stated that Aslan was a good coach and a pleasure to work with. He worked tirelessly to improve results.

The club wishes Aslan good luck in the future. An announcement about a new manager will be made shortly.'
