Casuals go sixth in stormy match at Fetcham Grove

Tanners winning streak ends- Casuals continue to impress

Last night saw two of the best performing sides in the Premier Division go head to head at Fetcham Grove, as Leatherhead, with four consecutive victories under their belts, hosted a Corinthian-Casuals side who had won four of their previous five.

The Tanners struck first, and it was that man Jerry Amoo, who had scored three goals in his sides previous two victories, doing it again in the nineteenth minute. The lead lasted until a minute before half time, when Warren Mfula found an equaliser, but perhaps the key moment of the match came three minutes after the interval, when Casuals keeper Danny Bracken did what he does best, saving a Tanners spot kick.

There were then three yellow cards- two for Casuals, one for Leatherhead- before, ten minutes from time, Max Oldham gave the away side the lead, and, as it would turn out, the points. But there was still time for two more yellow cards, and two red- Gabriel Odunaike for Casuals and Charlie Wassmer for the Tanners receiving their marching orders.

Casuals move up to sixth place, and could go higher with victory at Wingate & Finchley on Saturday, whilst the Tanners will look to bounce back away to Lewes.
