Walton Casuals have named Anthony Gale as their new manager for the upcoming Ryman South season.

Gale, the son of chairman Tony Gale, took charge of his first game last Saturday, guiding the Casuals to a 7-1 victory over Combined Counties League outfit Spelthorne Sports.

Gale is the second highest appearance maker in the club's recorded history with 276 appearances under his belt spread over a nine year spell. After finding the net on 51 occasions, he also sits sixth in the club's all-time goal-scoring charts and will be assisted by Jack Johnson.

The double appointment, comes only a few days after the Surrey club agreed a groundshare deal for the new season with newly promoted Ryman Premier Merstham.

As part of the restructuring of their backroom team, officials have also announced that Lee Maylon has taken over as the club's new kit manager with Devon West joining Hayley Archibald as a second club physiotherapist.
