Get your name on Margate's shirt- along with The Libertines

By Ian Townsend

Band extend shirt sponsorship- and purchasers can have their names on the shirt too!

Margate have announced that The Libertines, who began their run as the club's shirt sponsors earlier this season, have extended their deal for next season too- and you can have your name on the shirt alongside theirs just by being one of the first one thousand to purchase it.

The new third shirt- pictured above- is on pre-sale now (you can buy it here). The 'History Kit' is so called because it represents the opportunity for fans and supporters to become part of the Club’s history with their names appearing on the kit alongside Pete Doherty, Carl Barât, John Hassall and Gary Powell.

The Libertines themselves commented:

“We are really tickled to be sponsoring Margate FC for another season. There is a lot of exciting things going on in Margate at the moment… the Turner Prize, the Gate on a winning streak and not to mention our own Albion Rooms opening later this year. The new shirt is bespoke and unbelievably, even more beautiful than the last one and was designed by local pop artist Luke McLean.”

The shirt will be worn in all cup competitions next season. For more, head to the Margate website, here.
